Soccer Game Preview: Ferguson vs. Mourning

The Ferguson Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Mourning Sharks at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ferguson's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ferguson is headed into Wednesday's following a draw, the team's first since November 21. They and Coral Gables finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mourning came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Lightning onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Sharks' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven contests.

Joao Liebold and Abraham Rodriguez scored both of Mourning's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Mourning's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three games. Ferguson's draw gives them a new season record of 7-1-2.
