Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Indians vs. Lakota West Firebirds

The Fairfield Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Lakota West Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Fairfield is headed into Friday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elder on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Lakota West is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Miami Country Day. Lakota West was dealt a 79-52 defeat at the hands of Miami Country Day. The Firebirds' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Lakota West, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Fairfield won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup on December 10th, slipping by Lakota West 46-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
