Baseball Game Preview: Xavier Saints vs. Dubuque Senior Rams

The Xavier Saints will venture away from home to square off against the Dubuque Senior Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Dubuque Senior took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Xavier, who comes in off a win.

Xavier took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kennedy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Saints had just enough and edged out the Cougars 13-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Saints considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Dubuque Senior came up short against Western Dubuque on Friday and fell 8-3. The Rams have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Xavier's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Dubuque Senior, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything went Xavier's way against Dubuque Senior in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as Xavier made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
