Baseball Recap: St. Dominic Saints vs. Carrabec Cobras
With a playoff win on the line, St. Dominic rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Carrabec Cobras with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Saints have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Curtis Wheeler and Ben Dumais were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Wheeler tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Dumais tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wheeler has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wheeler got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Dumais went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave Dumais a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brady Blash was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Finley Cavers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
St. Dominic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carrabec struck out nine times.
St. Dominic now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Carrabec, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
