Softball Recap: Dillon Find Success

Dillon proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the West Bladen Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 29, 2025.

Zoee Chavis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Chavis was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Makenna Meekins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Dillon now has a winning record of 5-4. As for West Bladen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Dillon will host Aynor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Bladen, they have already played their next contest, a 10-5 win against East Bladen on the 23rd.
