Softball Game Preview: Pittsburg Pirates vs. North Lamar Panthers

Pittsburg is 2-8 against North Lamar since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Pittsburg will be strutting in after a victory while North Lamar will be coming in after a loss.

Pittsburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Paris a 22-0 shutout on Friday. The Pirates have beaten the Wildcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when North Lamar duked it out with Sulphur Springs on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 5-2 to the Wildcats. The Panthers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Pittsburg's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for North Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Pittsburg might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from North Lamar when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
