Volleyball Game Preview: St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders vs. Oviedo Lions

The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will face off against the Oviedo Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Thomas Aquinas sitting on 16 straight victories and Oviedo on eight.

St. Thomas Aquinas is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Bloomingdale 3-0.

St. Thomas Aquinas never let Bloomingdale on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-11, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Oviedo made easy work of Sunlake on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Oviedo's got stronger as the match went on, holding Sunlake to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 25-11.

Oviedo's victory bumped their record up to 24-6. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 27-4.

St. Thomas Aquinas took their victory against Oviedo when the teams last played back in September of 2019 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
