Baseball Game Preview: Lincolnwood Lancers vs. Edinburg Wildcats

The Lincolnwood Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Edinburg Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lincolnwood has five straight victories, Edinburg has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lincolnwood will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Greenfield/Northwestern, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Tigers on Friday.

Lutheran hit Edinburg with a four-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats came up short against the Crusaders, falling 9-2.

Edinburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lincolnwood, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Everything went Lincolnwood's way against Edinburg in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Lincolnwood made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
