Mt. Vernon hasn't had much luck against Newark recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets will host the Newark Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Mt. Vernon is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Hayes 64-37. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Newark came tearing into Saturday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 53-44.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Newark, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
