Softball Recap: Williamson Comes Up Short

Williamson fell victim to Corning-Painted Post and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-0. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Williamson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Sprague, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Williamson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamson will venture away from home to square off against Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Corning-Painted Post, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Elmira at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
