Basketball Recap: Trinity Falls Despite Big Games from Walker Parrish and Nazir Staton

Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 60-38 to the Southwestern Randolph Cougars. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-60 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Trinity had strong showings from Nazir Staton, who posted 13 points, and Walker Parrish, who put up 11 points.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Southwestern Randolph, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-11 record.

Trinity will face off against Randleman at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Randleman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Trinity likes a good challenge. Southwestern Randolph has already played their next game, a 76-44 defeat against Mount Pleasant on the 25th.
