Baseball Game Preview: Sunset Apollos vs. Mountainside Mavericks

The Sunset Apollos will face off against the Mountainside Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sunset came up short against Jesuit on Thursday, falling 12-5. The Apollos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountainside). They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Beaverton on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mavericks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mountainside's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Sunset, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Sunset was able to grind out a solid win over Mountainside when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Apollos repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
