Basketball Recap: Weeki Wachee Falls Despite Big Games from Jayden Parent and Logan White

Weeki Wachee lost against Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Weeki Wachee Hornets took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Bears. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Weeki Wachee's loss came despite strong showings from Logan White and Jayden Parent. White posted 17 points along with eight boards and four steals, while Parent went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave White a new career-high in steals.

Even though they lost, Weeki Wachee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braydon Prospero out in front who had 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Rommy Abreau was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 14 points.

Weeki Wachee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Weeki Wachee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-66 loss against Springstead on the 17th. Central has also already played their next match, a 76-36 defeat against Lecanto on the 17th.
