Recap: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Newnan Cougars
The McIntosh Chiefs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Newnan by a score of 46-35 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McIntosh also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
McIntosh was led to victory by Claudia Meditz and Jayla Jackson. Meditz scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Jackson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
McIntosh's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Newnan, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6.
McIntosh will take on Northview in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at. Newnan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
