Soccer Recap: Cape Fear Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Cape Fear Academy's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wayne Christian Eagles a 9-0 shutout. Considering Cape Fear Academy have won three matches by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Wayne Christian from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Curren Gaskill led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Cape Fear Academy pushed their record up to 4-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three contests. As for Wayne Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5-2.
