Evangel Christian won the last time they faced Southern Christian and things went their way on Saturday too. The Evangel Christian Lightning claimed a resounding 69-37 victory over the Southern Christian Patriots. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 29 points or more this season.

Evangel Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sawyer Blackman out in front who went 8 of 11 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Blackman a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Walker, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Evangel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Southern Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriel Decker, who posted seven points and four steals. Decker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Johnson, who went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Evangel Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. As for Southern Christian, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Evangel Christian will face off against Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ezekiel Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season. As for Southern Christian, they will square off against Wiregrass at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wiregrass also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 52.1 points per game.
