Basketball Game Preview: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Mitchell County Eagles

Terrell County is 1-9 against Mitchell County since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Greenwave will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Terrell County has given up an average of 55.2 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Terrell County is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Westover on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Greenwave were outmatched by the Patriots and fell 87-31. While losing is never fun, the Greenwave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Patriots are ranked eighth).

Terrell County got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Dominique Polite and D'Chavious Grier, who each put up six points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mitchell County). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Pelham 84-40. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Terrell County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Mitchell County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Terrell County came up short against Mitchell County when the teams last played back in December of 2025, falling 54-48. Can the Greenwave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
