Softball Recap: North Summit Braves vs. Rowland Hall Winged Lions

North Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 24-15 to the Rowland Hall Winged Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to North Summit of the 21-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Tuesday.

SHEA CHRISTENSEN and Trevie Seiverts stepped up to the plate in a big way. CHRISTENSEN scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Seiverts scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of KENDRIE COMER, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

On Rowland Hall's side, the team relied heavily on Brooke Brown, who went 4-for-6 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Jane Borst was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-7.

North Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Rowland Hall, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

North Summit will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Providence Hall will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something North Summit surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rowland Hall, they will head out on the road to square off against Lehi at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rowland Hall will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
