Basketball Recap: Maximus Von Ancken Key Part of a Team Effort in Chargers Win

Strawberry Crest won the last time they faced Steinbrenner and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Strawberry Crest Chargers managed a 62-58 victory over the Steinbrenner Warriors.

Strawberry Crest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maximus Von Ancken led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Von Ancken has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Crowe, who posted 17 points.

Steinbrenner lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Douglas Jordan, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Riley Aulls was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 17 points.

Strawberry Crest is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Steinbrenner, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-18.

Strawberry Crest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-59 win against Robinson on the 30th. Steinbrenner has also already played their next game, a 70-63 victory against Lennard on the 30th.
