Cony had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They blew past the Lawrence Bulldogs 7-1. Seven seems to be a good number for the Rams as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Cony's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Lawrence, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cony will head out to face off against Gardiner at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawrence, they will venture away from home to challenge Nokomis at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
