Preview: Maywood Academy Nighthawks vs. Animo Robinson Monarchs
Two dominant in Rodrigo Miranda and Roger Shackelford are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Maywood Academy Nighthawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Animo Robinson Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Aspire Ollin scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, Maywood Academy still came out on top. Maywood Academy enjoyed a cozy 70-55 win over Aspire Ollin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maywood Academy.
Edinson Castaneda went supernova for Maywood Academy, dropping a triple-double on 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals. Miranda was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 10 assists.
Meanwhile, Animo Robinson strolled past Orthopaedic with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 51-36. The victory was just what Animo Robinson needed coming off of a 57-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Animo Robinson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deandre Kirkpatrick, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Pippert, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Maywood Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Animo Robinson, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 4-3 record.
