Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Crestview Knights, falling 3-0. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Jefferson was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-23, 25-16.

Myah Buettner paced Jefferson's offense, picking up eight kills. Buettner got some help from Alissa Gallmeier and her 13 assists. Kate Brinkman controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Crestview to victory were Lydia Grace and Emily Lichtle. Grace had eight digs and two aces, while Lichtle had six digs and four aces. Lichtle is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Crestview, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Allen East on the 2nd. As for Crestview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Lima Central Catholic on the 2nd.
