Basketball Recap: Lincoln-Way West Takes a Loss

Lincoln-Way West lost against Lincoln-Way East back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lincoln-Way West Warriors fell 67-55 to the Lincoln-Way East Griffins. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Griffins are ranked 101st).

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln-Way West and nudges their season record down to 11-12. As for Lincoln-Way East, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Lincoln-Way West will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Forest at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln-Way East, they will challenge Thornton Fractional South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lincoln-Way East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Thornton Fractional South likes a good challenge.
