Softball Recap: Glen Allen Extends Winning Streak to Four

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Glen Allen had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They beat the Western Branch Bruins by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. The win was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won four contests in a row.

Jaidyn Tillman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ila Goding and Ally Von Herbulis did most of the damage at the plate: Goding went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple, while Von Herbulis went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Goding a new career-high. Alison Via was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Glen Allen's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Western Branch, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-5.

As of now, neither Glen Allen nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
