Volleyball Recap: Trico Pioneers vs. Edwards County Lions
Trico and Edwards County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Trico had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Edwards County Lions. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Pioneers haven't been shut out since back in August.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-21.
Trico's offense was headlined by
Ariana McBride and
Whitney Lovel, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from
Molly Rathert and her two assists.
Trico moved to 33-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Edwards County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 29-9.
Trico does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edwards County, they will face off against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Norris City-Omaha-Enfield is coming into the match with 16 straight victories on the road, so Edwards County will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
