Baseball Recap: Anderson County Triumphs

Anderson County lost to Santa Fe Trail on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-2 win over the Chargers.

Aleck Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zach Schaffer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Anderson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Fe Trail only posted a batting average of .174.

Anderson County's victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1. As for Santa Fe Trail, they moved to 11-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Anderson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Fe Trail, they will face off against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
