Basketball Game Preview: Dickinson Gators vs. Deer Park Deer

The Dickinson Gators will head out to face off against the Deer Park Deer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Dickinson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 games.

On Saturday, Dickinson beat Clear Falls 56-45. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Knights are ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Deer Park entered their tilt with Clear Springs on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 44-37. The squad ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Dickinson pushed their record up to 25-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Deer Park, their win bumped their record up to 17-15.

Dickinson barely slipped by Deer Park in their previous meeting back in January, winning 55-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dickinson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
