Softball Recap: Palm Desert Aztecs vs. Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs
Palm Desert had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs. The Aztecs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mighty Arabs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.
Gwyneth Kitagawa was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5. Taneia Arviso was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Coachella Valley and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palm Desert will square off against Redlands at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coachella Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cathedral City at 3:00 p.m. on March 5th.
