Summit Christian Academy took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hampton Roads Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Summit Christian Academy in their matchups with Hampton Roads Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Hampton Roads Academy to victory were Abby Fiala and Kenzie Cooper. Fiala scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks, while Cooper dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Summit Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Hampton Roads Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Christian Academy will take on Tabernacle Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hampton Roads Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Hampton Roads Academy is ranked 121st).
