We're unveiling 22 total stories about the 2014 Sochi Olympics with ties to high school sports.

The Sochi 2014 Olympics will feature the world's best athletes in a host of winter sports, and MaxPreps is proud to release  a series of 20 "From Students to Sochi" stories and two Beyond the X features focusing on the Winter Games.

Feb. 22: Steve Langton realized his track and field days were over after success in high school and college. He sent an email showing interest in the bobsled, and now he's an Olympic medalist. Read the story

Feb. 17: Aaron Blunck's family couldn't deny his gift, so they allowed him to move from Crested Butte, Colo., to get better training. Now he is a skiing halfpipe Olympian. Read the story

Feb. 16: Nick Baumgartner was an All-American wrestler, all-state football player and state hurdling champ at West Iron County (Iron River, Mich.). He's still in his hometown, and the snowboardcross star trains to enhance his cardiovascular endurance with athletes at his alma mater. Read the story



Feb. 15: Polina Edmunds blended in at Archbishop Mitty High in San Jose, Calif. Now she's one of the youngest Olympic figure skaters in Sochi, and quite popular. Read the story

Feb. 14: The Shibutani siblings (you may know them as the "Shib Sibs") have found stardom in ice dancing - and on YouTube. Read the story

Feb. 14: Tracy Barnes gave her Olympic biathlon spot to twin sister Lanny, creating an international story of good will. The sisters formed that bond in part on the soccer field at Durango (Colo.). Read the story

Feb. 12: Brittany Bowe's high school basketball prowess got her to college, and she had visions of a pro career. Turns out her prowess in rollerblading was the ticket to speedskating stardom for the Olympics. Read the story

Feb. 11: Arielle Gold is still a student at Steamboat Springs High in Colorado. She's chasing gold in the women's snowboard halfpipe competition at 17 years old. Read the story



Feb. 10: Keri Herman skied recreationally and occasionally during her six-year varsity hockey career in Minnesota. Then she met some friends in college who loved freestyle skiing. Now she's in Sochi for slopestyle skiing. Read the story

Feb. 9: Sean Doherty is the youngest person to ever go to the Olympics for US Biathlon. And the New Hampshire native is competing against people twice his age sometimes. Read the story

Feb. 8: Tucker West's father built a luge track in the family's back yard. That definitely helped spur the Connecticut kid to become the youngest USA Luge Olympian ever. Read the story

Feb. 7: Emery Lehman will represent the United States in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter speed skating races. Then he'll come back to Oak Park-River Forest (Oak Park, Ill.) to play lacrosse. Read the story

Feb. 6:
USA Hockey‘s National Team Development Program (NTDP) has groomed half of the men's hockey players competing for the United States this year, and players have to make a move to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take part. Read the Beyond the X feature and watch the video

Feb. 6: Twins Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux led Shattuck-St. Mary's (Faribault, Minn.) to three national girls hockey titles and now are gunning for a gold medal. Read the story
