Basketball Recap: Prospect Panthers vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates
The Prospect Panthers lost against the Piedmont Hills Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Prospect took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. Prospect has struggled against the Pirates recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Piedmont Hills to victory were Brian Pham and Subeg Rai. Pham scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, while Rai scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angelo Lonero, who scored six points.
Prospect has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Piedmont Hills, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Piedmont Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Willow Glen is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
