Baseball Recap: Columbine Takes a Loss

Columbine came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bishop Manogue Miners, falling 9-1.

Columbine saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pryce Richie, who went 1-for-2 with one double. John Swanson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Columbine has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Bishop Manogue is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Columbine will head out on the road to square off against Dakota Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Manogue, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Colfax at 3:45 p.m. The timing is sure in Bishop Manogue's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Colfax has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
