Volleyball Recap: Goleman Comes Up Short

Goleman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Varela Vipers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Branley Borrego paced Goleman's offense, picking up 14 kills. Borrego got some help from Carlos Delgado and his 26 assists. Delgado was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Goleman now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Varela, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Goleman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Palmetto on the 22nd. As for Varela, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Coral Gables on the 22nd.
