Softball Game Preview: Clements Colts vs. St. John Paul II Falcons

The Clements Colts will head out to challenge the St. John Paul II Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clements is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Clements came up short against Tharptown and fell 6-2.

Clements saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carly Nave, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Peyten Burks was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, St. John Paul II unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Randolph School, falling 14-5.

Kyley Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Jayden Adams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

St. John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Clements, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

Everything went Clements' way against St. John Paul II in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, as Clements made off with an 18-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
