Baseball Recap: Port Jefferson Falls to Pierson in First Game of Season

Port Jefferson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Pierson Whalers by a score of 10-8 on Monday. Royals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Whalers since on Monday.

Coming up, Port Jefferson will face off against Southampton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pierson, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Mattituck at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
