Softball Recap: Lumen Christi Catholic Starts off Right with Win over Bishop Foley

Lumen Christi Catholic had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Bishop Foley Ventures as they made off with a 9-3 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ollie Powers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, Lily Ganton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Codi Ruge was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Lumen Christi Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Foley struck out 15 times.

Bishop Foley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Lumen Christi Catholic will square off against Northwest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Foley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
