Soccer Recap: Longmont's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

The Longmont Trojans beat the Fort Morgan Mustangs 3-1 on Tuesday. Given Longmont's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Fort Morgan are ranked 206th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Longmont hit Fort Morgan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Claire Sebring, Ella Erwin, and Kylissa Kirk.

The victory made it two in a row for Longmont and bumps their season record up to 9-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two games. As for Fort Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Looking ahead, Longmont will take on Liberty Common at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Longmont will need to watch out since Liberty Common have now posted at least four goals in their last four matches. As for Fort Morgan, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Frontier Academy at 6:00 p.m. Frontier Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Fort Morgan surely won't give up without a fight.
