Basketball Recap: Tristian Bell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Washington County

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Dublin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Washington County Golden Hawks 67-65. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dublin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristian Bell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 assists. With that strong performance, Bell is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Harris, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards.

When it comes to explaining why Washington County lost, don't look at Zion Cordy. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points and five assists. Those 21 points gave Cordy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Collins, who put up ten points along with five assists and three steals.

Dublin's record now sits at 13-4. As for Washington County, their record now sits at 6-9.

Dublin has already played their next matchup, a 57-55 victory against East Laurens on the 24th. As for Washington County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-52 defeat against Baldwin on the 25th.
