Volleyball Recap: Valmeyer Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Valmeyer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out First Baptist Academy 2-1 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Valmeyer got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 24-26, 26-24.

Valmeyer found their leader in freshman Grace Rowold, who had 18 digs and two blocks.

Valmeyer's victory bumped their record up to 2-9-1. As for First Baptist Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Valmeyer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Dupo on the 17th. First Baptist Academy has also already played their next match (against Mt. Olive), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
