Soccer Game Preview: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy vs. Walsingham Academy

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints will head out to challenge the Walsingham Academy Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Walsingham Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Peninsula Catholic. Considering Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Walsingham Academy faced Norfolk Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Trojans came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 4-0. Considering the last time Walsingham Academy couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Walsingham Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 5-6-1 record.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy couldn't quite get it done against Walsingham Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
