Volleyball Game Preview: Pendleton Heights Arabians vs. Mt. Vernon Marauders

Pendleton Heights is 1-9 against Mt. Vernon since August of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Arabians will challenge the Marauders at 6:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Pendleton Heights came up short against Muncie Burris and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon beat NorthWood 2-0 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

Mt. Vernon's win came from a few key players Pendleton Heights will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amelia Anderson, who had 11 assists and six digs. Aubry Dowling was another key player, getting ten digs.

Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Pendleton Heights, they now have a losing record of 15-16.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Pendleton Heights has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Mt. Vernon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Pendleton Heights suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Mt. Vernon when the teams last played back in August. Can the Arabians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
