Baseball Recap: Lee County Comes Up Short

Lee County had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Leslie County Eagles, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 last Tuesday.

As for Leslie County, their record is now 6-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Leslie County's part, Tyler Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rylan Simpson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Eli Crisp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lee County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Perry County Central on the 18th. Leslie County has also already played their next game (against Berea), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
