Softball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clovis on Friday, Foothill came back down to earth. Foothill fell just short of Bullard by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. Foothill's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Capri Gallego was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched nine innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Rodriguez Haley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Violet Bonnet was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bullard, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Foothill will challenge Northwood at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bullard, they will square off against Kingsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bullard will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
