Florence Christian's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders as Florence Christian made off with a 19-2 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Anna Kate Huggins was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Huggins was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton White, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Jamie Kennedy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Florence Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Florence Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Northside Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Florence Christian will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Thomas Sumter Academy at 6:30 p.m. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will host South Aiken Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
