Recap: Niobrara County Tigers vs. Southeast Cyclones

The Niobrara County Tigers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 71-40 win over Southeast. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Niobrara County has posted since December 16, 2023.

TJ Moats and Beaux Shimic certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Moats scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and eight blocks, while Shimic scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shimic has scored all season.

Niobrara County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Southeast, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Niobrara County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pine Bluffs at 6:00 p.m. Southeast will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Encampment at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Encampment is ranked 41st, while Southeast is ranked 40th).
