Volleyball Recap: Yarmouth Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Greely

Yarmouth faced Greely in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Clippers lost 3-0 to the Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Grace Keaney paced Yarmouth's offense, picking up eight kills. Keaney got some help from Sutton Yi and her 11 assists. Kenzie Lentz controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Yarmouth and nudges their season record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 York (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 85.7% over those games). As for Greely, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Yarmouth and Greely will both be playing York the next time they take the court. The Clippers will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rangers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
