Football Recap: Lakes Starts Season with Win Against Prairie Ridge

Lakes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Prairie Ridge Wolves 54-9.

Madeline Loar was nothing short of spectacular: she rushed for 45 yards and one TD, and also threw for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of her passes. Liv Tautges got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lakes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Sarah Annexstad, Joli Wiedrich, Tautges, and Bre Fellows picked up one apiece. Tautges got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 30-13 defeat against Libertyville on the 27th. As for Prairie Ridge, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Crystal Lake Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The match will give the Wolves their first taste of in-conference action this season.
