Volleyball Recap: Romeoville Takes a Loss

Romeoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainfield East Bengals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20.

Cei'Montay Hopkins paced Romeoville's offense, picking up three kills. Hopkins got some help from Szymon Rutkowski and his seven assists.

Romeoville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Plainfield East, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Romeoville has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cristo Rey St. Martin on the 19th. As for Plainfield East, they will take on Lincoln-Way Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bengals surely won't give up without a fight.
