Basketball Game Preview: Hillsdale Falcons vs. Smithville Smithies

Hillsdale is 2-8 against Smithville since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hillsdale Falcons will host the Smithville Smithies at 7:00 p.m. Hillsdale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Smithville likes a good challenge.

If Hillsdale beats Smithville with 70 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Hillsdale walked away with a 70-63 victory over Fredericktown on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Smithville suffered their biggest defeat since March 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Norwayne, falling 66-44. The loss continues a trend for the Smithies in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Hillsdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Smithville, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.
