Football Game Preview: East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans vs. Whitesboro Warriors

East Syracuse-Minoa hasn't had much luck against Whitesboro recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Spartans will square off against the Warriors at 8:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Syracuse-Minoa will bounce into Friday's game after beating Fayetteville-Manlius, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Spartans blew past the Hornets 31-6 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Meanwhile, Whitesboro's offense rose to the challenge against a Comets defense that boasted an average of only 14.5 points allowed on Friday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 38-12 margin over Carthage. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won four in a row.

East Syracuse-Minoa's record is now 7-2. As for Whitesboro, their record now sits at 9-1.

Things could have been worse for East Syracuse-Minoa, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-7 loss to Whitesboro when the teams last played back in September. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
